Technology Integration
Learner - Digital Toolbox
Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others, and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

The artifact that I chose for the ISTE Learner Standard is the list that I have created of digital tools and resources. This list includes Canva, Snorkl, Wayground, Kahoot, and Classroom Screen. This artifact aligns with the learner standard because it is evidence that I am committed to learning about new tools to use in my classroom that can best serve both my teaching practices and my students' learning. These tools (and those that I will continue to find and add to the list) allow students to engage with technology that will enhance their learning and the classroom environment. This list will continue to grow as I have continued to learn about new technology resources that could be beneficial to both myself and my students.
Leader - Reflection Form & Reflection Slide
Educators seek opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.

The artifacts that I have selected for the ISTE Leader standard, are two different documents that I created in collaboration with other math teachers in my department. Through our weekly PLC time, we created a reflection process that we are implementing this year as a way for students to take more ownership in their formative learning. We created a reflection form where students were asked to rate their understanding of each learning target on a 1-4 scale that we created. Students ranked their understanding before completing a review activity, after completing a review activity and conferencing with the teacher, and after receiving their test results back. The reflection slide was displayed on the board as students reflected post test. The slide explains to students which test questions aligned with which learning targets so they could reflect more accurately. This reflection allows for myself, and those in my department to be leaders as we implement this new process. It also teaches students to feel more empowered in taking ownership of their learning, specific to where they need to focus their studying before a summative assessment.

Citizen - Copyright Discussion Post
Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.

For the Citizen ISTE Standard, I have chosen my Copyright Discussion Post as my artifact. In this discussion post, I discuss learning more about finding images on Google that are able to be used according to Copyright and Fair Use Guidelines. I also talk about a streaming service that my school has access to that follows Copyright and Fair Use Guidelines. By educating my students about proper use of digital tools as discussed in this post, I am demonstrating the Citizen ISTE standard. Our students are using technology more and more each day, and we play a role in their lives as educators to help them learn how to use technology responsibly.
Collaborator - ISTE Activities
Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.
For the Collaborator ISTE Standard, I have selected the ISTE Activities Document that I created in collaboration with another fellow teacher. As math and science teachers, we worked with one another to explore the ISTE Standards for Educators, discuss how we could implement them in our disciplines, and then developed a set of activities that could be used by educators to meet these standards. Working with a peer in a discipline closely related to my own, was beneficial as we were able to bounce ideas off of one another and share ideas and resources with one another that we know about or currently use in our classrooms.

Designer & Facilitator - Flipped Classroom Lesson Plan
Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and opportunities that use technology to accommodate learner variability.
Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students.

For both the Designer and Facilitator ISTE Standards, I have selected my Flipped Classroom Lesson Plan. As an educator, I designed a flipped classroom lesson where students work through guided notes to learn about solving multi-step equations. This lesson video was created with Screencastify, which creates a learner-driven activity where students can work through the guided notes at their own pace. This flipped classroom video is also an example of facilitating student learning by engaging students through guided notes via technology. Once students have completed the guided notes through watching the video outside of class, students will come together in class to complete a CLUE based activity where they are tasked with solving a variety of multi-step equations.

Analyst - Formative Assessment - Gimkit Activity
Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals.
Earlier this school year, students completed a Gimkit Activity for review of a lesson taught the previous day. Once the Gimkit was completed, I am able to access a report that shows me how students performed, which questions students did well with, and which questions students struggled with. This activity and reflection is my artifact for the Analyst ISTE Standard, because it gave me data that I was able to use to determine where gaps were in my students learning. This allowed me to plan a lesson that reviewed some of the most missed concepts. It also allowed me to better understand which students needed more support from me with this specific topic.
